Raymond Weil adds a new duet of golden references to the Toccata Heritage collection, bridging old-world and contemporary elegance.
In the grand scheme of Raymond Weil’s comeback story, one of the biggest highlights has to be the Toccata Heritage. Though the Millesime, the Freelancer, and the A.R.T. understandably garner the most attention, this elegant dress watch helped redefine the subgenre for a more dynamic, modern audience.
Sure, that might just be my bias talking, given that the Toccata Heritage is one of my favourite releases of the past few years. Yet, my personal feelings for the collection don’t detract from just how good it is, combining an old-world dress watch aesthetic with a reliable movement and relative accessibility.

Since its bombastic introduction with nine references in 2025, the brand has steadily expanded the collection with new dial and case tones, as well as artistic collaborations with the likes of seconde/seconde/. This time around, in time for their 50th Anniversary, Raymond Weil has chosen to fully embrace the collection’s vintage inspirations while looking towards its promising future, unveiling two new references that capture both past and present horological flair.
Midas Touch
Though they’re new additions to the lineup, the two new Raymond Weil Toccata Heritage models don’t stray far from what made the originals so well received. Both measure 33mm in diameter, with a 38mm lug-to-lug and a remarkable thickness of just 6.95mm.
While a 33mm case might not sound like much on paper, keep in mind its unique shape. The elliptical case, not quite a rectangle and not quite a circle, stretches beautifully across the wrist, while the sheer thinness allows it to sit low and flat. The mostly rounded, entirely polished profile further enhances its ergonomics while creating a more prominent wrist presence through its play of light.
The tone of each watch differs dramatically depending on which version you choose. The first features a rose gold PVD-coated steel case, complete with a matching grey calfskin strap. The other model, dressed in yellow gold PVD, instead pairs its case with a blue calfskin strap.
Both come with pin buckles matched to their respective case tones. With water resistance rated to just 30 metres, these Toccata Heritage models are dress watches through and through, offering the necessary protection against the occasional splash you might encounter at your next black-tie event.
Amaterasu
While the silhouette is distinctly old-world, each design has been carefully considered to push the Toccata Heritage towards either vintage or modern inspirations. Before we get into that, though, allow me to take you through the familiar details first.
Both models feature sunray-brushed dials surrounded by minimalist details befitting a dress watch. Stick indexes and a pointed minute track are the only major features, while a pair of sharp, Dauphine-style hands tell the time.
The two references, naturally, differ in their dial tones. On the rose gold model, the hands and indexes match the case, while the sunray-brushed backdrop is finished in grey. This gives the watch a distinctly contemporary feel, making it ideal for anyone looking for a modern-looking dress piece.
But if you want to truly accentuate the collection’s heritage, the gold-on-gold-on-gold of the other reference is waiting for you. Having initially released a similar reference in a monochromatic rose gold finish, Raymond Weil’s new yellow gold version is undoubtedly more extravagant. Yet, it recalls the golden era of watchmaking, when designs like these were everywhere, particularly among brands such as Piaget, Corum and Girard-Perregaux.
Having had the privilege of viewing both models in advance, I found myself leaning towards the rose gold reference. While I love the period the other Toccata Heritage evokes, I find the contrast between rose gold and grey just that little more compelling. In fact, I loved it so much that I have a review in the works. Keep an eye out!
Classic Manual
Turning the watch around reveals a familiar sight: the manual-winding Cal. RW4100. Visible through the exhibition caseback, it beats at the luxury standard of 4Hz (28,800VpH) and offers a 45-hour power reserve. While the name alone might not sound familiar at first, Raymond Weil has partnered with Sellita to use a customised version of the SW210-1 as its base.
A no-date, two-hand movement, this is about as simple as it gets in watchmaking. Yet, Raymond Weil has done a great deal to finish the Cal. RW4100 in a way that balances fine craftsmanship with accessibility.
Not only does the movement still hack, meaning the seconds hand stops when you adjust the crown, but it also features blued screws, a rarity at this level of watchmaking. What’s more, thanks to the visible escapement, you don’t have to hold the watch up to your ear to check whether it’s running. Just turn it around! If the escapement is moving, so too should the watch be.
Initial Thoughts
In the bigger picture of the Toccata Heritage collection, there isn’t much more to say. However, that’s entirely by design. Dress watches are meant to be graceful, minimalist pieces that complement the outfit around them rather than call attention to themselves. Even though the gold-toned cases of these new releases are more flamboyant than standard stainless steel, they remain true to the principles of the dress watch.

Furthermore, Raymond Weil executes this formula at a level that remains accessible to budding enthusiasts. Building on the success of the collection’s stunning 2025 debut, these latest references demonstrate that the brand’s comeback is more than a flash in the pan. Rather, it’s part of a broader repositioning that has transformed Raymond Weil into one of the rising stars of modern watchmaking.
