Jason Statham was born in 1967 in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, England. He is well known for his gritty performances, muscular physique, and adrenaline-filled action sequences, many of which are embedded in his roles. Statham has carved a niche for himself as a versatile actor capable of bringing intensity to any role he undertakes.

It might be surprising to know however, that Statham actually made a name for himself as a competitive diver, who represented England in the Commonwealth games. From this, he eventually transitioned to modelling, which was then followed by acting that then further propelled him into the global spotlight.

Jason Statham’s breakthrough role came in 1998 when he was cast by director Guy Ritchie as a con artist “Bacon” for the crime comedy “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.” Statham put in a memorable performance, and his natural charisma allowed the actor to set the stage for more performances in Guy Ritchie films, including “Snatch” (2000) and “Revolver” (2005).

Statham has played a key role in major blockbuster films with many of them leading to great commercial success. Some of these films include Transporter Trilogy (2002-2008), The Italian Job (2003), Crack (2006), War (2007), The Bank Job (2008), The Mechanic (2011), Spy (2015), Expendables (2010-2014) and Fast & Furious franchise just to name a few.
