TUDOR Begins Their Formula One Campaign As Sponsor Of Visa Cash App RB Team

by Sameera Gamage

The newest F1 Team will have the TUDOR Shield displayed on the nose of the F1 car and also on the chest of the driver’s uniforms.

TUDOR has broken into modern-day Formula One with their latest partnership with Visa Cash App RB Team (V-CARB). This isn’t the first time, however, that the brand has participated on the racetrack. The TUDOR Watch Racing Team took part in the 60s, while the more recent racing venture has been the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. But the brand hasn’t participated in modern-day Formula One championships until this year.

Visa Cash App RB is supposedly the newest kid on the block for Formula One. This Italian Formula One racing team falls under the banner of Red Bull, with the other constructor being the famous Red Bull Racing. While this looks like a new team on paper, the Visa Cash App RB team has technically participated in Formula One before. For quite some time, too, actually, under the banner of Scuderia Alpha Tauri, then before that under the name Toro Rosso and finally Minardi, which was when this Italian Formula One team first started back in 1979. Scuderia Alpha Tauri participated in Formula One during the 2020 to 2023 seasons before this latest rebranding.

Alongside the rebranding, the team behind Visa Cash App RB has also gone through a radical shake-up. For starters, the drivers behind this brand new Formula One car are Yuki Tsunoda and none other than our very own Australian Daniel Ricciardo! (If you want to see Ricciardo’s amazing watch collection, click here!) Alongside the drivers, the personnel change has happened across all departments, from management to engineering, as they set out to make themselves Formula One front-runners.

“TUDOR has always been fueled by a daring spirit, a consistent will to do things differently. And this spirit—we call it Born to Dare—is exactly what Visa Cash App RB is demonstrating heading into the 2024 F1 season. We’re beyond thrilled to return to motorsport with a partner that’s ready to take on the challenge.”

The new Visa Cash App RB team is considered the underdog heading into the 2024 Formula One season; however, it is one with a fighting spirit. And this is exactly what TUDOR loves about this partnership. The Swiss watchmaker’s main motto is “Born to Dare”, which in this case means to support a team that “shows promise and shares a daring ethos and a fighting spirit. One that’s ready to take on the challenge of racing to the front of the pack from behind.”

“We are delighted to welcome TUDOR to our team. They have a long history in motorsport, dating back to the
60s when they first got involved in sports car racing, as well as historic racing and rallying. Now, the Swiss watch company has seized the opportunity to move up to the very pinnacle of motorsport, joining us, as we tackle the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship with our new Visa Cash App RB identity. Our team will be challenging the status quo in Formula 1 with a strong identity, unique style and uncompromising quality – just like Tudor watches.”

Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team CEO, Peter Bayer.

To celebrate this exciting new partnership with the Visa Cash App RB team, TUDOR has created special edition timepieces of the brand’s Black Bay Ceramic model. No exact specifications of this new special edition model has been given out, besides the detail that it will only be distributed to official team members including the drivers. In the official photos of Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo, the pair can be seen sporting this new special edition Black Bay Ceramic timepiece.

The first official races of the 2024 Formula One Championship will commence in Bahrain on March 2nd. TUDOR will be present at this event, cheering on their brand-new partnership team and hoping for great success. Regardless of the result, however, millions of viewers will be watching on to see the newly shaped Formula One team and luxury Swiss manufacturer embody the “Born to Dare” spirit as they chase success.
