Celebrity Watch Spotting – Australian Formula 1 Driver Daniel Ricciardo’s Impressive Watch Collection!

A fellow watch aficionado, Daniel Ricciardo’s collection of timepieces contain horological masterpieces.

We are featuring another famous Australian in this latest Celebrity Watch Spotting article, and its none other than Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo! Ricciardo is well known as one of the more relaxed and fun-spirited drivers off the track, however, on the track he has been nicknamed “The Honey Badger” due to this aggressive and bold driving style. He explained the reason behind this name to Red Bull back in 2014 as “It’s supposed to be the most fearless animal in the animal kingdom!”

Daniel Ricciardo started his professional in 2011 when he was named the test and reserve driver for Scuderia Toro Rosso. He made his official debut for Formula 1 with Hispania Racing at the British Grand Prix. Since then, Ricciardo has competed for Red Bull Racing, Renault, McLaren and is now currently on loan with Scuderia Alpha Tauri for the rest of the 2023 season. So far in his professional racing career in Formula 1, Daniel Ricciardo has achieved  8 Grand Prix victories and 32 podiums.

Outside of his passion for fast cars, he is also quite the watch aficionado. His collection of timepieces reflects his personality quite well, with the watches being outlandish, bold and elegant designs. His timepieces range from racing inspired watches, luxury pieces in precious materials and gemstones, to smartwatches. Audemars Piguet 18k Yellow Gold Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra Thin 16202BA

Daniel Ricciardo spotted with his girlfriend Heidi Berger in Venice wearing the Audemars Piguet 18k Yellow Gold Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra Thin. Released in 2022 as part of the 50th anniversary of the Royal Oak born in 1972, this model comes in a yellow gold housing including the bracelet.

TAG Heuer 60th Anniversary Carrera Chronograph “Glassbox” in blue

Ricciardo was spotted with the 60th Anniversary TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Glassbox in blue. This model was released early this year and comes with a domed crystal that is shaped like the hesalite crystal of vintage 1970’s pieces, called a “Glassbox” design. TAG Heuer Red Bull Racing Connected Smart Watch

The only smart watch we’ve seen in his collection so far is the TAG Heuer Red Bull Racing Connected Smart Watch. As TAG Heuer sponsored Red Bull, Ricciardo wore this piece to team events and it would certainly have helped with lap timings!

TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 18 Chronograph

Spotted on the wrist during a race event was another one of Ricciardo’s TAG Heuer pieces, this time the Heuer Heritage Carrera Calibre 18. Featuring a beautiful simple yet bold design, this timepiece came with the brand’s calibre 18 movement which powers the constant seconds at 3 o’clock, date at 6 o’clock and a 30 minute counter at 9 o’clock.

Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre Heuer 01

Featuring TAG Heuer’s signature Heuer 01 movement is this Carrera Calibre Heuer 01 spotted on Ricciardo’s wrist. The timepeice comes with a skeletonised dial where you can see a lot of the movement underneath, including the date wheel!

Patek Philippe Rose Gold Nautilus Chronograph with black gradient dial

Ricciardo was seen wearing this beautiful Patek Philippe Rose Gold Nautilus Chronograph with a black gradient dial. The timepiece is encased in rose gold, along with a gold bracelet and comes with a flyback chronograph function.

Patek Philippe Platinum Chronograph Perpetual Calendar 5271P-001

Ricciardo was seen wearing this stunning Patek Philippe Platinum Chronograph Perpetual Calendar 5271P-001 as he made an appearance on the Ellen Show. This masterpiece of a creation comes with a bezel and lugs set with 58 baguette diamonds (~3.63 ct), with the fold-over clasp set with 22 baguette diamonds (~0.97 ct). Oh, and a manually wound mechanical movement that powers the perpetual calendar functions. By far our favourite timepiece in his collection!

Patek Philippe 5711/112P-010 “Ruby”

Another Patek spotted on Ricciardo’s wrist is the 5711/112P-010 “Ruby”. The 5711 line of Patek timepieces is one of the more sought after watches by collectors. It’s said that Patek introduced this off-catalogue platinum model filled with ruby baguettes (32) for the brand’s “best clients”.

Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5164R Travel Time

Spotted on Ricciardo’s wrist during one of his many flights was the Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5164R Travel Time. This particular Travel Time model comes with a rose gold casing with a brown dial. A dial colour matching dark brown polymer strap completes the aesthetics of the timepiece. The watch comes with Caliber 26‑330 S C FUS which powers the dual time zone mechanism indicating local and home time, along with the local and home day/night indications in apertures.

Richard Mille RM 50-03 Tourbillon Split-Seconds Chronograph Ultralight Mclaren F1

During a McLaren Team press event, Ricciardo was spotted wearing this extraordinary Richard Mille RM 50-03 Tourbillon Split-Seconds Chronograph McLaren Edition. Richard Mille states that this piece was “produced in collaboration with the famed Formula 1 constructor, the RM 50-03 is a technical masterpiece offering unrivalled mechanical performance. Weighing less than 40 grams including the strap, it was also the lightest mechanical chronograph ever made on its release.”

Richard Mille RM 67-02 “McLaren Team” Edition

Spotted during Ricciardo’s McLaren racing days was the Richard Mille RM 67-02 “McLaren Team” Edition. With the dial representing the orange McLaren team colours, this was exclusively “not-for-market”. This impressive timepiece was made of quartz and carbon TPT with orange accents, which represents the stand out colours of his team. This timepiece normally comes with a matching orange strap, however, it seems Riccardo has swapped this out for a green one to match his personal taste.
