All-new Roadmaster Rescue Chronograph collection

With the Rescue Chronograph timepieces, BALL took the classic chronograph watch and innovated it to help those serving in critical missions. The two chronograph pushers on the case have been reinvented with a new patented locking system, to eliminate any unintentional manipulation. A function that will provide useful in those quick decision making moments. The chronograph itself, when activated, works in unison with the pulsometer scale to measure heart rate, with the two illuminated sub-dial counters at 12 and 6 o’clock track the elapsed time.

“When tracking long periods of elapsed time, the sub-dial at 12 o’clock is a 30-minute counter, while the 6 o’clock sub-dial is a 12-hour counter. In addition to that, the chronograph hand works in conjunction with the dial’s pulsometer scale – graduated for 15 pulsations – to quickly measure one’s heart rate.”

Another standout feature of this Roadmaster Rescue Chronograph collection is the luminosity the watch gives out. The watch has near perfect luminosity in total darkness, ensuring that the time can be read very easily regardless of the scenario. In fact, unlike Superlumi-Nova, no charging time is required, meaning that it’s always ready to go when needed. This is all thanks to the the micro gas tubes used by BALL Watches.

The tritium based self-powered micro gas tubes are used on the dial for the hour indices, sub-counter indices and increments, the hour and minute hands, and lastly an inset on the ceramic bezel. The dial’s Arabic numerals (for the sub-counters) and the bezel’s count up markings use standard green Super-lumiNova. A total of 37 tritium micro gas tubes have been used throughout the dial and the inset on the bezel, providing a colourful displaying in low-light conditions.

All of the different variants in this new Roadmaster Rescue Chronograph collection come in a 41mm x 14.8mm titanium-steel combination case, that strength, durability and comfortable wear due to the case being lightweight. All models are also offered as standard on a 3-link tapered titanium and stainless steel bracelet with folding buckle. The watch comes with a scratch-proof ceramic bezel insert, which is done in either green, black or blue to match or contrast with the dial colours.

A total of 8 dial colour variations are on offer, to suit a variety of different personal tastes. Firstly, we get the standard black, blue or green dials with matching sub-dial coloured counters. Then a full blue dial (blue sub-dials as well) with black ceramic bezel insert, along with a panda dial variant. The three remaining timepieces are white dials with either blue or green sub-dials or black sub-dials to make the reverse panda dial configuration.

The movement inside the new Roadmaster Rescue Chornograph timepieces is BALL’s automatic calibre RR1402. What makes this movement stand out from the standard chronograph calibres is thanks to BALL’s special cold temperature resistance oil. With this oil, the movement is able to maintain steady accuracy in volatile conditions ranging from –45°C to 80°C (-49°F to 176°F). The timepiece also features BALL”s patented Amortiser® anti-shock system which surrounds the automatic movement and absorbs shock impact.
