Bremont Brings A Taste Of F1 Racing To Their Melbourne Boutique

by Matt Clymo

If you’re in Melbourne this weekend and fancy yourself a bit of a racer, then head into the Bremont Boutique on Collins Street to try your hand at the Williams F1 race simulator!

Watches and Formula 1 kind of go hand in hand. High performance cars on the track with high performance luxury timepieces on the drivers wrists, and the entire F1 team for that matter! And this weekend in Melbourne, Bremont on Collins Street is giving the public the chance to take to the track and see how they go piloting the 2022 Williams race car around the iconic home of F1 in England – Silverstone.

Last night, prior to the public, a handful of VIP’s and media were able to give it a go and show off their skills in the simulator around Silverstone. It was a great night and loads of fun, with many living their childhood dreams as a race driver. Yes, I still sometimes feel this way as well!

Guests were also treated to racing royalty, with the Grandson of the famous Australian Three-Time F1 World Champion, Sir Jack Brabham, Sam Brabham dropping in for a visit and to show the mere mortals how it’s done on the simulator. Whilst he’s not an F1 driver himself, Sam is very much a race driver with it in his blood and has competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup and more recently the GT World Challenge Australia. Needless to say, there wasn’t much competition for him setting the fastest lap times!

The event was in celebration of the arrival of the latest piece to Bremont’s line up – the Bremont WR-45 Chronograph. The WR-45 was launched back in June with the help of Bremont Co-Founder Giles English, F1 lead commentator David Croft and Williams F1 drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sergeant. If you missed it, you can read about the release and timepiece here.

The WR-45 Chronograph

The WR-45 is a stealthy timepiece, all black DLC coated Stainless Steel with Bremont 3 piece Trip-Tick® case design and includes subtle and not so subtle nods to the Williams Racing Team such as the blue accents, blue lume and the Williams Racing etched on the movement’s oscillating rotor. It’s also a limited edition piece with only 244 being made and including a wheel nut from the Williams F1 car – a great souvenir for racing lovers!

The F1 Racing Simulator is one of those experiences we would recommend if you’re into your motorsports. And even if you’re not, its a fun experience you should have a try at. Whilst you’re there, you can enjoy the hospitality of the friendly staff and make sure you try on the Bremont motorsports range of watches, including the limited edition WR-45 Chronograph and the C-Type Jaguar Chronograph.
