H. Moser & Cie., one of horology’s leading independents, expands their emblematic Streamliner collection with a spectacular enamel green dial.
Much has been made of the independent watch brand H. Moser & Cie. Headed by the Meylan family, including brothers Edouard and Bertrand, the company has made a name for itself in the haute horlogerie scene.
Their reputation is wide-reaching, from creating remarkably focused pieces of horology all the way to their more mischievous antics. But whether they’re making a minimalist perpetual calendar or a watch out of cheese, they take every step seriously.

Since its debut in 2020, the Streamliner collection has been exemplary of this. Initially pegged as an alternative to other integrated bracelet sports watches of the same ilk, the model line has since defined itself as an innovative leader in the subgenre. Late 2023 saw the brand introduce the Streamliner Small Seconds, a watch so spectacular that it entered the running for the following year’s GPHG awards.
So while they expand the line this year with a new dial colour, it hasn’t come without equal parts careful consideration and craftsmanship. However, you may not be able to get your hands on this one so easily, as it’s only available through H. Moser & Cie.’s boutiques.
Streamlined Specs
The new Streamliner Small Seconds Lime Green Enamel Boutique Edition brings with it all the best elements of the previous model in a fresh, dynamic colour. The stainless steel watch measures 39mm wide and 10.9mm thick, allowing it to wear flat and close to the wrist. The cushion-shaped, almost pebble-like case enhances the overall wearing experience, helping the Streamliner truly live up to its name.
As the Streamliner is an integrated bracelet sports watch, the bracelet itself has been carefully considered to ensure optimal wearability. Flowing seamlessly out of the case, it wraps comfortably around the wrist all the way to a butterfly-style clasp.
Better yet, H. Moser & Cie. have even included micro-adjustable capability in the clasp itself. Seeing a butterfly clasp with micro-adjustment is a rarity these days, but the brand delivers, allowing for a small degree of tool-free adjustment and year-round adaptability. With 120m of water resistance, the Streamliner isn’t just another pretty face and has been crafted with everyday wear in mind.
It’s Not Easy Being Green
But speaking of pretty faces, H. Moser & Cie. have spared no expense in that regard. The headline feature, of course, is that lime green fumé Grand Feu enamel dial. With beautiful degradation and intriguing texture, the dial has been meticulously crafted through an array of challenging processes.
Beginning with a hammered gold base, multiple enamel pigments are then carefully applied by hand, crushed and fused through twelve firings and re-firings, each altering the behaviour of the enamel. The result is a gradient surface that transitions from a bright lime green at the centre to deeper, more saturated tones at the edges. Because of the nature of the process, no two dials are ever alike, with each carrying its own sense of depth and variation.
As with many H. Moser & Cie. watches, the dial remains completely logo-free, instead handing the spotlight to the enamel and finishing. Applied indexes are positioned along the periphery, with a double index at 12 o’clock providing orientation. Fitted with Globolight inserts, the watch offers a restrained yet comfortably lumed set of hands. At 6 o’clock, a recessed small seconds sub-dial introduces a contrasting circular texture, the only visual break against the hammered enamel.
Min-Maxing
If you’re unfamiliar with H. Moser & Cie., then you may be delighted to hear the back is just as pretty as the front. Through the open caseback, the Calibre HMC 500 can be seen powering the whole operation.
Beating at a comfortable 3Hz (21,600VpH), the automatic movement delivers a weekend-proof 74 hours of power reserve. Again, this further underscores the everyday nature of the Streamliner while showcasing the best of H. Moser & Cie.’s movement finishing.
And finished this movement certainly is. The bridges are coated in anthracite and decorated with the brand’s signature double stripes, while the micro-rotor is engraved with the Moser hallmark.
A Straumann balance spring, produced by Precision Engineering AG, ensures precision and stability, reinforcing the technical integrity of the movement. Rather than emphasising decorative excess, the HMC 500 focuses on clarity, performance and structural refinement, in line with H. Moser & Cie.’s watchmaking philosophy.
Initial Thoughts
I used to watch a bit of anime when I was a kid. Among the shows I watched was one called One-Punch Man. In it, the eponymous main character, Saitama, is a whimsical yet indestructible force who can obliterate most enemies with a single punch. Though he rarely takes his challenges seriously, often beating them in comedic fashion, the moments where he does become serious are truly spectacular to behold.
I’d equate H. Moser & Cie.’s watchmaking practices to that of Saitama: completely unserious at first impression, but as you dig deeper you realise just how much of a punch they pack. Case in point: the Streamliner Small Seconds Lime Green Enamel Boutique Edition, which through a combination of fine dial artistry and mechanical ingenuity creates a horological package far too good to ignore. If you’ve got the money, surely you can afford the journey to see one of these in person. And if you do, tell me what you think.
