This latest addition to the TOP GUN Mojave Desert lineup is the simpler three-hander Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 TOP GUN Mojave Desert (Ref. IW328106). It features the same desert-inspired colour tones as the rest of the TOP GUN Mojave Desert editions, while offering an easy-to-read dial with a date feature.
Case Design
While IWC Schaffhausen has certainly mastered the art, creating a ceramic case is no easy endeavour. While the actual engineering process of making ceramic is complex, getting the right colour is another battle. The meticulously crafted sand-coloured case is perfected through countless trials until the right colour is achieved. The timepiece is offered in the same 41mm case size as the Mojave Desert Chronograph edition, while being 11.4mm thick, offering a balanced presence on the wrist that feels both robust and wearable.

The dial has beige minute track and hour indices, while the Super-LumiNova on the hands is perfectly colour matched to the case as well. A subtle yet important detail is the date wheel at 3 o’clock, which has been colour matched to the dial so that it blends in.
