Hublot brings a softer side to the Big Bang with new pastel ceramic editions that still carry the brand’s bold, unmistakable personality.

As you may be aware, Hublot is one brand that is not shy when it comes to standing out, whether it be through vibrant colours, materials, or bold design in general. Each year, the brand introduces summer timepieces that take inspiration from the Mediterranean, summer colours, or designs that take you back to brighter, sunnier days. For 2026, the brand is leaning further into that identity with its latest Hublot Summer releases, this time turning to pastel ceramic tones to give the Big Bang collection a playful, seasonal and unmistakably Hublot design.

Thanks to Hublot’s “Art of Fusion” philosophy, the brand has mastered several materials, including ceramic. They are one of the very few brands in watchmaking that have been able to create different colours across the various materials they offer, and that includes these new pastel shades in ceramic. It is very rare to see these tones in watchmaking, making these timepieces not only stunning and unique, but also the perfect addition to one’s collection for adding just the right amount of colour without being too dramatic.

Big Bang Summer Multi-Coloured Ceramic 42mm

The Big Bang Summer Multi-Coloured Ceramic 42mm model is arguably the most wearable expression of this new pastel ceramic concept. The timepiece is limited to just 200 pieces and features the 42mm x 14.5mm thick Big Bang case, this time with a combination of microblasted and polished pink and mint green ceramic. This is then framed by a sky-blue ceramic bezel with a matching sky-blue ceramic caseback. I had the chance to have a quick glance at these models in person, and I have to say that photos do not do them justice. The matte tones of the pastel colours are stunning in person, and the different shades really do bring the timepiece to life.

Inside the Big Bang Summer Multi-Coloured Ceramic 42mm is Hublot’s HUB1280 Manufacture self-winding flyback chronograph movement with a column-wheel. The movement operates at 4Hz, or 28,800VpH, while delivering a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. This is one of Hublot’s key in-house chronograph calibres and suits the more technical personality of this 42mm Big Bang Summer edition well.

Big Bang Summer Multi-Coloured Ceramic 44mm Tourbillon

The second edition of this Big Bang Summer pastel range is the Multi-Coloured Ceramic 44mm Tourbillon. This model takes on the same aesthetic design notes as the 42mm ceramic edition above; however, it is elevated into a more mechanically complex form thanks to the tourbillon complication. Being a much more technical timepiece, it is limited to just 10 pieces. The same colour palette as the 42mm ceramic model is retained, with a microblasted and polished pink and mint green ceramic case, a sky-blue ceramic bezel, and a transparent pink sapphire crystal dial.

Compared to the flyback chronograph, though, this timepiece feels more architectural, as the open-worked dial allows more of the movement to become part of the timepiece’s visual design. And while the Big Bang Summer Multi-Coloured Ceramic 42mm is a bit more wearable in my opinion thanks to its smaller case size, this tourbillon edition is Hublot at its best, bringing together material innovation alongside a highly technical movement.

Speaking of movement, powering the Big Bang Summer Multi-Coloured Ceramic 44mm Tourbillon is the HUB6035 Manufacture automatic tourbillon movement. It runs at 3Hz, or 21,600VpH, and offers a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. The use of a micro-rotor allows for an open and highly transparent dial-side view, making this the most haute horlogerie expression within the new pastel ceramic line-up.

Big Bang Titanium Peach Ceramic 42mm

For the third edition, we go back to the Big Bang 42mm Flyback Chronograph, but this time Hublot brings the pastel idea back into a slightly more grounded and technical form. Unlike the previous multi-coloured pastel models above, this edition features a satin-finished and polished titanium case that is highlighted by a polished peach ceramic bezel. This gives the timepiece a more restrained look, while still keeping the playful summer theme alive.

The peach tone appears across the bezel, skeletonised dial, hands and structured rubber strap, giving the watch a strong monochrome look while keeping the lightweight practicality of titanium. Compared to the bolder interpretations of the Big Bang models we have seen in the past, this peach pastel ceramic edition has a softer visual appearance, while titanium keeps the watch practical and a bit more versatile on the wrist.

Big Bang Ceramic 33mm Trio

The last model in this Big Bang Summer Pastel Ceramic collection is actually a trio of 33mm models. The new 33mm Big Bang Ceramic is introduced in three different pastel colours: peach, mint green and petrol blue, with each version taking on a full monochrome look. As stated by Hublot, this is also the first time in the brand’s history that the 33mm Big Bang models are presented without diamonds, which incidentally allows the pastel colour, ceramic case and signature Big Bang design language to really shine. Each of the three models comes with a polished ceramic case, matching ceramic bezel, matching dial and structured lined rubber strap in the same colour.

Powering the Big Bang Ceramic 33mm trio is the HUB1120 self-winding movement. The calibre operates at 4Hz, or 28,800VpH, and offers an approximate 40-hour power reserve. While this is certainly the simpler movement offering within these new Big Bang Summer Pastel Ceramic editions, it suits this mini-collection perfectly. The 40-hour power reserve is more than enough if you plan on wearing the watch daily, and with colours as beautiful as these, it would be hard not to!

Initial Thoughts

As mentioned earlier, I’ve always been a fan of Hublot’s summer creations, with the Big Bang Unico Sky Blue still being one of my all-time favourite timepieces from the brand. What I like about these new Hublot Big Bang editions is that they show a softer side of the brand without losing the boldness that makes Hublot what it is.

While the pastel colours could have easily turned these into overly playful creations, the signature Big Bang architecture and Hublot’s high-tech ceramic expertise give them the right amount of substance. They still feel fun and expressive, but also still very much technical and unmistakably Hublot.

The 42mm multi-coloured ceramic chronograph is arguably the strongest all-rounder of the group, while the 44mm tourbillon edition seems like the obvious collector’s piece, nicely bringing together Hublot’s ‘Art of Fusion’ with their technical knowledge. The 33mm trio also brings something different to the table, especially now that Hublot has removed diamonds from the design for the first time, allowing the colours to stand on their own. Overall, this is what Hublot does best: taking materials, colour and mechanical watchmaking, and turning them into something fun and unmistakably different!
