Members of the Watch Advice Collector’s Circle and Longines came together in Brisbane for a special evening celebrating the latest evolution of the HydroConquest collection!
Longines has long been a brand that has brought together elegance, sporting heritage, and everyday wearability, and with this new HydroConquest collection, this is one of the best examples of this philosophy in action. As you may have seen, Longines made headlines with the release of their updated HydroConquest collection, which is offered in two sizes to accommodate a wider range of wrist sizes and features a stunning design and ease of wear.
Fortunately for us at Watch Advice, we have already had the chance to get up close and personal with this collection, with our very own Mario (see above) and Matt doing a hands-on review, which gave us a closer look at how these new HydroConquest models wear and feel in the metal.
Then, only a few short days ago, Watch Advice teamed up with Longines to host an intimate evening in Brisbane with our Collector’s Circle members, where we got to showcase and celebrate the latest evolution of the HydroConquest collection and gave the Brisbane collectors and enthusiasts a chance to experience these new models up close!

The evening started with the guests arriving at the Longines Brisbane Boutique, located at 189 Edward Street. The boutique is set within one of Brisbane’s key luxury retail precincts, and it offers a spacious and elegant environment where guests and clients are able to indulge in the heritage and sophistication of Longines. With its open layout, warm atmosphere, and beautifully presented displays, it gives guests the perfect setting to explore the world of Longines up close.

As the night continued, guests began mingling throughout the boutique, taking the opportunity to explore the many different collections that Longines has to offer. From the vintage-inspired charm of the Longines Legend Diver to the everyday versatility of the Conquest collection, there was plenty for the guests to discover. There were a few guests who wore their Legend Diver to the event, showing their appreciation for the brand!

The Pilot Majetek collection also brought a strong aviation-inspired presence to the boutique, while the Spirit Zulu Time range highlighted Longines’ ability to blend travel functionality with classic watchmaking design. It was a great chance for attendees to experience the broader Longines catalogue beyond just the hero pieces of the evening.

Of course, however, the main focus of the night was the latest evolution of the Longines HydroConquest collection. Guests were able to get their hands on these newly released models, especially the editions on the ever-popular Milanese bracelet, which gives the collection a more contemporary feel. There were also the boutique editions, the frosted blue dial, and the quickly becoming popular black dial with grey bezel edition. The limited-edition Commonwealth Games timepiece also saw a lot of wrist time on the guests, and honestly, with a dial like that, totally understandable!

The other dial colours of the new HydroConquest were just as popular. My personal favourites have to be the black dial with blue bezel on the Milanese bracelet, the green dial with green bezel, and the grey dial boutique editions. Honestly, I had some trouble trying to wear them on the night as they were always on someone’s wrist! For a collection already known for its sporty dive-watch character, these new executions with their vibrant dials give the range even more visual appeal.

The official introduction to the evening was then led by the Longines Marketing Manager, Matthew Bruce, Assistant Boutique Manager Ada Ke, with Chamath then speaking on behalf of the WatchAdvice team. This introduction, along with Chamath’s experience with the watches (having bought one himself), gave guests a deeper understanding of the purpose of the night, the significance of the HydroConquest collection, and why this latest update is so important for Longines.
It also created a nice moment of connection between the brand, the boutique team, WatchAdvice, and the guests in attendance. Rather than simply being a product showcase, the evening felt like a true celebration of the collection and the community around it.

The event was also complemented beautifully by a wide array of delicacies and refreshments, giving the guests a chance to relax, enjoy the conversation, and view Longines timepieces at their own pace. The catering team did a fantastic job of adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the night. And it’s these smaller hospitality touches that made the evening feel more personal. It was the kind of setting where guests could enjoy the watches, the company, and the overall experience of the night without ever feeling rushed.

There was a relaxed energy throughout the evening, with conversations moving between favourite models, personal watch collections, and first impressions of the new HydroConquest pieces. This is always my favourite part of a watch event, getting to know the collectors and enthusiasts, what got them into watchmaking and why they like certain models over others. There’s always a personal story involved, which is what makes these conversations so enjoyable and reminds you that watch collecting is about far more than just the watches themselves.

While you can see the watches through photographs and read the specifications online, which to me tells only half the story, there is nothing like trying on the watch in person. The Milanese bracelet in particular gave the HydroConquest a different feel, offering a balance between sporty dive-watch practicality and a slightly more dressed-up appearance. It became clear that the collection resonated strongly with guests, especially after they had the chance to experience the various bracelets and strap choices along with the different dial colours on the wrist.

The evening also saw the guests purchasing the new HydroConquest, which included the green dial, as it proved to be one of the standout pieces of the night. This was a fitting reminder that the HydroConquest is not just a watch that looks good on a display cabinet, but one that genuinely connects with people when they try it on. It certainly felt special when you see guests add another beautiful timepiece to their collection.

To close out this special evening, guests came together for a group photo, capturing the shared experience between Longines, WatchAdvice, and the Brisbane watch community, who are a part of our Collector’s Circle. It was a fitting end to a night built around watches and conversation. And with a collection like the new HydroConquest, it’s hard not to see why it continues to resonate with so many collectors, offering the right balance of sportiness, everyday practicality and classic Longines elegance.
For Watch Advice and Longines, this was a memorable evening celebrating one of the brand’s most versatile modern sports watches! And if you want to be a part of our Collector’s Circle, and have the chance to attend events like this around the country, then you can join here
