The new Oris Artelier Calibre 113 brings one of the brand’s most impressive in-house movements back into the spotlight, pairing elegant design with a practical business calendar and remarkable 10-day power reserve!

Sometimes the best kind of comeback is not a complete reinvention, but a smart reminder of why the original worked so well in the first place. With this in mind, Oris has updated the Artelier line by reintroducing the Calibre 113 within the collection’s signature design language. One of Oris’s best in-house movements has now made another appearance in one of the Artelier’s most complicated lines.

The Artelier has always operated as Oris’s more classical, dress-focused collection, offering a different personality to the brand’s better-known tool-watch families like the Aquis, Divers, and ProPilot collections. The Artelier line is best described as a timeless collection built around design restraint and mechanical art within the dial. More so, the Artelier collection has become one of the main places where Oris expresses its love of traditional Swiss mechanical watchmaking in a more elegant package, rather than through outright sports or aviation design.

All-new Oris Artelier Calibre 113 collection, featuring a green dial on leather and a white dial on both leather and steel bracelet.

One of the major milestones for the Artelier collection came in 2014, when Oris introduced the Calibre 110. This movement marked the brand’s return to mechanical movement manufacturing after a 35-year hiatus, and Oris chose to present that comeback through the Artelier line, making the collection one of the most important chapters in the brand’s modern history.

A follow-up to this came in the form of the Artelier Calibre 111 and 112, which continued the momentum behind the brand’s first modern in-house movement-making efforts. These proved to be further major introductions in Oris’s history, while also reinforcing that the Artelier family had become the home for the brand’s modern mechanical revival.

Then, in 2017, came the introduction of the Oris Calibre 113, the next evolution of the Calibre 100 Series format. The Calibre 113 has real historical importance, as it introduced Oris’s business calendar complication into the Calibre 100 Series, with the movement displaying the day, date, month, and week of the year. Another defining trait of the Calibre 113 was its incredible 10-day power reserve, which equates to 240 hours.

While this 2026 Artelier Calibre 113 does not introduce a brand new movement, it does mark the revival of an existing and successful calibre. The movement has already played a part in this year’s Artelier collection through the Year of the Horse limited edition, and now we see it take on a wider role within the regular Artelier Calibre 113 line.

Where Restraint Meets Complexity

Oris is presenting this new Artelier Calibre 113 in two different variants, both featuring a 43mm multi-piece stainless steel case that measures approximately 13.2mm in thickness. With a 43mm case, it is quite large compared to modern dress watches, but the timepiece also features several complications, which help justify the added size.

The multi-piece construction of the case helps elevate it beyond a simple dress-watch shell, giving this Artelier Calibre 113 a more traditional and elegant profile. It also adds a greater sense of depth and detail to the overall design, which suits the watch nicely, considering the level of complexity shown on the dial. Rather than trying to make the case a major talking point on its own, Oris has used this construction to give the timepiece a more considered and balanced presence, allowing the classical styling to frame the complications beautifully.

Oris is presenting the Artelier Calibre 113 models in two different dial colours, either finished in green or white, with each dial featuring three different textured patterns. The main dial face has a textured finish, while the 60-second sub-counter at 9 o’clock features a recessed circular finish. Then the month and week indication on the outer part of the dial has a much smoother finish compared to the textured centre, which allows the main dial to stand out nicely. Even with these updated colours, the dial still stays true to the Artelier’s clean and classical design language, which Oris states is part of the collection’s pure, information-led approach.

The standout feature of the Calibre 113 movement is the business calendar layout, which on these timepieces showcases the day of the week beneath the Oris logo at 12 o’clock, an oversized date window at 9 o’clock replacing the hour marker, the month indications in between each hour index, and the week display shown on the outer part of the dial.

I personally really like the execution of the outer ring on these Artelier Calibre 113 dials. It is brilliantly done, as when the week indicator moves along the dial, it also correctly aligns with the month display, essentially hitting two birds with one stone. What makes the dial even more impressive is that, despite the amount of information it presents, it still looks restrained and elegant rather than overly busy, which is very much in line with the Artelier’s design philosophy.

Then, amongst all the information on the dial, we also have the oversized power reserve indicator, which not only shows how much energy is left in the movement before it needs to be rewound, but also highlights Oris’s brilliant execution of the Calibre 113 and its incredible 10-day power reserve.

The Heart Of The Artelier

The star of this timepiece is, of course, the Oris Calibre 113, a hand-wound movement that falls within the brand’s Calibre 100 Series. This movement continues to push Oris’s ambitious in-house mechanical watchmaking further by integrating several useful functions into a very practical dial layout. It is a movement that suits the Artelier collection perfectly, because it combines classical watchmaking charm with useful information in a way that still feels elegant rather than overly technical.

One of the biggest talking points of the Calibre 113 is its impressive 10-day power reserve, or 240 hours, which is made possible by an oversized mainspring barrel. Just as important is Oris’s signature non-linear power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock, which is controlled by a patented worm-gear system and gives a more precise reading as the movement winds down.

Through the sapphire crystal caseback of these timepieces, we are able to see a level of finishing that really adds to the appeal of the watch. The large bridge layout gives the movement a strong architectural look, while the broad striped finishing across the surfaces catches the light beautifully and gives the calibre a much more premium feel in person. There are also open sections of the movement that allow you to see the gear train and balance wheel, bringing a bit more life to the inner workings of this impressive calibre.

Initial Thoughts

These two new additions to the Atelier line bring back one of the brand’s best-engineered movements. The Artelier Calibre 113 is the kind of watch that reminds you just how appealing classical complication watchmaking can still be when it is executed with restraint. Regardless of dial colour choice, each timepiece is presented with a fresher and more modern edge compared to previous Artelier Calibre 113 models. And with real substance in the form of the Calibre 113 movement underneath, it becomes a watch that can double as both an elegant dress piece and a genuinely functional tool watch.

If there is one area where I think the watch could be improved slightly, it would be in the case size. At 43mm, it certainly gives the Artelier Calibre 113 a strong wrist presence, but I do think a slightly smaller downsized case would help make the watch more wearable across a wider variety of wrist sizes. That being said, the timepiece very much succeeds in what it sets out to do. And if the Year of the Horse Artelier Calibre 113 is anything to go by, selling out in under 24 hours, then this new collection will be a very welcome addition to the Artelier line.
