During breast cancer awareness month, Zenith reaffirms their support for the global fight with the release of a new limited-edition Chronomaster Sport Pink timepiece.

CEO of Zenith, Julien Tornare, shared his views on the Swiss watch brand’s continued role in supporting the Susan G. Komen foundation by stating “The Chronomaster Sport is definitely our most emblematic modern El Primero chronograph today, and I’m so happy to see it serve as a vessel to promote the fight against breast cancer and raise awareness. Susan G. Komen is doing an incredible job making a difference for women across the world, and ZENITH is proud and humbled to support their efforts.”

This all-new Chronomaster Sport Pink comes in a stainless steel 41mm case with a matching 3 link stainless steel bracelet. There are two firsts with this watch for the Chronomaster Sport collection. Firstly is the bezel. Zenith has previously used ceramic for the bezel insert, however, this time has opted to go with stainless steel. While it ways more than ceramic, it works well for the aesthetics of the timepiece, presenting an all steel look with a retro vibe, similar to the El Primero “Rainbow” timepieces of the 1990s.

Secondly, as mentioned earlier, this is the first time the colour pink has been used by Zenith for the Chronomaster Sport collection. The striking pink dial is presented in a radiant sunburst metallic finish, which allows the pink colour to reflect a range of intense pink hues. The chronograph counters are also colour matched to the dial, with sunburst effect added in as well so that it matches the finishing on the dial smoothly. The date window also has the wheel pink coloured so that it blends in with the dial. These aesthetic details allow this new pink colour to be the centre of attention, and rightly so, not only for the aesthetics of the timepiece but the watch’s purpose; to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Underneath this all is Zenith’s latest version of the El Primero 3600 Calibre movement. This extremely high frequency movement operates at a frequency of Hz (36, 000 VpH) and can give out a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. This column-wheel movement is able to measure and display upto 1/10th of a second.

Like previous editions of the Chronomaster Sport, this latest version comes with an open transparent sapphire case back, offering the wearer a view into the finishing of the movement. Zenith does provide quite an aesthetic view of the calibre 3600 movement. The winding rotor has been skeletonised, so that more of the movement can be seen underneath. The rotor also features Zenith’s signature 5-star emblem, which, is also done in a skeletonised design. A touch of color is used to break away from the metallic grey of the movement with the use of blue screws.

Koeman foundation, to support their efforts to make a positive impact on their community by allowing patients everywhere to live better, longer lives.
