Bremont’s Geneva Watch Days 2026 starts with an expansion on their avant-garde Terra Nova Jump Hour line with a more compact 35mm iteration.
British watchmaker Bremont has established itself as a key player within the region. Since being founded in 2002, they’ve experienced a meteoric rise in popularity, which was both somewhat stymied and then ultimately furthered by their rebrand. The momentum of such a relatively young watch brand is nothing short of admirable, especially when they’ve reinvented themselves halfway through.
Of their new collections, the Terra Nova should take some of the credit for their latest ambitious chapter. Initially beginning life as a field-oriented, all-purpose timepiece, it’s since evolved into a canvas for artistic horological expression. This came to a head with Watches and Wonders 2025, where they released a new rendition of the Terra Nova in a jump-hour format.
The highly ambitious design was met with near-universal praise, which forced Bremont’s hand – to their delight – into making it a permanent mainstay in the catalogue. Now, for Geneva Watch Days 2026, they’ve unveiled a new set of Terra Nova Jump Hours, this time in a more compact 35mm setting.
Stay Frosty
Standing 35mm wide and 40.93mm from lug-to-lug, the Terra Nova Jump Hour 35s are just the latest in Bremont’s venture into ambitious design territory. The silhouette remains as familiar as ever, in stainless steel, with slight variations across the four interpretations.
Most familiar to Bremont fans is the solid look, which foregoes a dial in exchange for a vertically brushed solid finish. However, a new version of the watch emerges, replacing the brushed finish with a frosted one.
The sparkly exterior, prevalent across the case and dial protector, makes for a deeply unique viewing experience unlike any other watch in the Bremont roster. Well, almost any; another 35mm version, this time with an open dial, also uses frosting across its exterior, but this time extended over the bezel as well.
All watches wear fairly slim and low to the wrist, with a 10.3mm thickness, while the solid frosted reference comes in at an even thinner 8.9mm. The comfort is furthered by their associated straps, available on either leather straps or the classic Terra Nova integrated bracelet.
Both are interchangeable, though, so Bremont is more than happy for you to switch up the look to your desire. With 100m water resistance, or 30m for the dressier frosted solid dial, the new 35mm Terra Nova Jump Hours are perfect compactions of the original’s established frame.
Out The Window
It’s not just the case size and finish that’s new, as the design brings a whole new flavour not yet seen in the Terra Nova Jump Hour. Again, the most familiar are the two iterations that use the dial protectors in either brushed or frosted finishes.
These completely cover where the dial would traditionally be, save for the two apertures at 12 and six o’clock. Most notably on these smaller versions of the Terra Nova Jump Hour, the compass-shaped second hand has been removed in favour of an added frosted finish or an engraved version of said compass, depending on the reference.
The other two watches take on a more conventional layout, opening up the dial to a sunray-brushed backdrop of either red or pink. Using the same jump-hour and minute disc layout, they’re differentiated by the use of a central second hand.
Another fun detail that’s been added to these dials is the mix of applied circular or star-shaped indexes against the white printed minute track. It’s a blend of design cues from both the original 40.5mm references and the star embellishments introduced on the America 250th Anniversary editions released earlier this year.
While the Terra Nova collection is a fairly serious-looking watch, even in its jump-hour format, the playfulness of the star indexes not only calls back to previous design cues, but shows Bremont’s continued commitment to evolving the Terra Nova design.
Touching Base
Beneath the closed, engraved caseback lies an old friend in the Terra Nova Jump Hour line. Inside is the Cal. BC634AH, which beats at 4Hz (28,800VpH) atop a 56-hour power reserve. Of course, its defining feature is the high-torque jumping-hour mechanism, engineered to advance the hour disc to the next numeral in less than one-tenth of a second. This instantaneous change is central to the character of the Terra Nova Jumping Hour, transforming what is otherwise a purely aesthetic display into a technically engaging complication in action.
For all its flashiness, though, the watch remains reliably functional. Bremont developed the Cal. BC634AH alongside movement manufacturer Sellita, enabling them to practically guarantee the reliability of one of watchmaking’s most consistent movement makers.
Initial Thoughts
Making a watch smaller always comes with its challenges. It’s not just some two-step process that shrinks the watch, but a careful consideration of preserving the original functions without compromise. This extends to design, as good aesthetics don’t simply come from growing and shrinking the size to the heart’s content. This is especially apparent with Bremont’s new Terra Nova Jump Hour 35s, particularly in the open-dial variations.
The brand could have easily executed the same layout as its 40.5mm siblings, but chose not to for the sake of clarity and balance. I believe sticking with the 12-to-six layout was the best choice in the smaller size, not only for legibility but also to keep the elements consistent across all four references. But regardless of which one you pick in the end, the latest quartet of Terra Nova Jump Hours might just be their best yet, inviting a whole new market of customers into the brand to try them out for themselves.
