Same 2340 foundation, two new dial personalities, and a fresh burst of colour for Louis Erard’s integrated bracelet watch!

Louis Erard has always been one of those independent Swiss watchmakers that has gone about doing things a little differently. The brand was first founded in 1929 and is based in Le Noirmont in the Swiss Jura, where it has built its modern identity around making mechanical watchmaking more accessible, all while keeping creative design at the forefront.

Rather than chasing what is trending at the moment, Louis Erard has leaned into artistic expression, bold designs and collaborations with names such as Alain Silberstein, Vianney Halter and Konstantin Chaykin. This independent spirit is one of the reasons why many enthusiasts love the brand, especially under the leadership of Manuel Emch, where Louis Erard has continued to blend traditional watchmaking with a more playful and disruptive approach.

Louis Erard’s 2340 collection was only recently introduced, making its debut in October 2025. It takes its name from 2340 Le Noirmont, the postal code of the brand’s home in the Swiss Jura, and marks a shift in design direction for the brand. This is an important collection for the Maison, as it is the brand’s first integrated bracelet model, allowing Louis Erard to move into a sportier and more contemporary category.

Now, for this 2026 addition to the collection, Louis Erard is presenting two new dial colours: Mauve, soft and luminous with an oblong pill pattern, and Forest, deeper and more graphic with a horizontal lined texture. While the base foundation of the 2340 collection remains the same, these two new colours give the collection a completely new character.

2340 starts with construction. The case, the bracelet, the proportions. With Mauve and Forest, we did not touch that foundation. We worked where a detail changes everything: the dial. Maube brings softness and rhythm. Forest brings depth and graphic presence. Same 2340, two different attitudes. That is where Louis Erard likes to work: in the detail that changes everything.”
Manuel Emch – Managing Director of Louis Erard.

A Sportier Louis Erard, Built Around Proportion

When Louis Erard set about designing the 2340 model, it was created to fulfil a purpose, almost as a statement of intent. Firstly, we have the 40mm case with a thickness of just 8.95mm, making it perfectly suited by dress watch standards. But what I found more impressive about this tonneau-shaped case design was its lug-to-lug distance. Measuring just 41.5mm, the lug-to-lug distance is extremely compact considering the case size, which incidentally also means it should hug the wrist nicely.

The titanium case comes with satin-brushed surfaces across the case and bracelet, while the bezel features a sleek polished finish to add contrast and a touch of elegance to the design. The case flanks are shaped by polished gadroon-style inserts, which visually break up the brushed titanium surfaces while also helping to conceal the bracelet connection. The polished surfaces of the case are made from stainless steel, which is an unorthodox choice, but one that helps add depth to the piece through different materials and contrasting finishes.

Mauve And Forest Bring New Character

The Mauve and Forest dial colours add new character to Louis Erard’s 2340 collection. Previously, the collection featured three colours: a distinctive mint dial, a slightly subdued slate grey, and the classic blue dial colourway. The addition of Forest green brings another classic tone into the line-up, while Mauve, a pale and muted shade of purple, adds a bolder and more expressive choice to the collection.

The different textured designs for these two dials also help separate them further. While these textured dial surfaces are already existing designs in the collection, they help create visual depth and add character to the dial, allowing the details to grab attention. The Mauve dial features an oblong stamped pill pattern that gives the dial a softer and more playful sense of rhythm, while the pale purple tone brings a luminous and slightly unexpected personality to the watch.

The Forest green dial, on the other hand, takes a slightly different approach. It offers a deeper and more structured look compared to the Mauve execution. The horizontal lines also give the dial a uniform textured appearance, adding to the overall visual depth of the design. Just like the Mauve edition, the green tones shift subtly across the textured surface depending on the light. While green has become a familiar colour in modern watchmaking, Louis Erard gives it enough texture and depth here to make it feel distinct within the 2340 collection, adding a more classic yet contemporary option to the line-up.

Initial Thoughts

The Louis Erard 2340 collection already had a strong foundation, with its integrated bracelet design and good existing dial colour choices. However, with these two new dial colours, the collection gains an extra layer of personality. The Mauve dial is bold, and with there not being too many purple dials on the market, it is certainly distinctive on the wrist. The Forest dial, on the other hand, feels a little more classic and grounded, with its deeper green tone and horizontal lined texture giving the watch a more graphic presence.

The Sellita SW300-1 automatic calibre also plays an important role here, as the movement’s slim 3.60mm height helps keep the overall case thickness down while still offering a practical 56-hour power reserve. With its slim profile and beautifully proportioned case, Louis Erard hasn’t changed the core formula of the 2340, but simply adjusted the area where personality can shift the most: the dial. These new Mauve and Forest editions don’t reinvent the collection, but they do add more variety and character to an already well-considered integrated bracelet watch.
