The 2026 Winter Olympics are underway, and Omega is, once again, the official timekeeper, with a new Seamaster Special Edition to celebrate the event.
The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano and Cortina have officially kicked off and are underway, so what better time to take a look at one of Omega’s newer releases in the special edition Seamaster 43.5 mm in white ceramic? At the end of last year, we got a firsthand look and covered the release of the 38 mm Speedmaster Winter Olympic edition, and this time its slightly deeper diving sibling joins the Winter Olympic collection for this year.
Done in a stunning white ceramic case on a white rubber strap, with a matching ceramic bezel and a patterned dial with the 2026 Olympics logo on the icy pattern relief.

So let’s start with the case, shall we? This particular Seamaster has been crafted from white ceramic and grade 5 titanium and made in Omega’s 43.5 mm Seamaster case, similar to that of the black ceramic models in their current collection. This will help the watch to be much lighter on the wrist and stronger as well. The white is matched with a white ceramic dive bezel in a positive relief, which Omega does through laser ablation.

Outside of the white ceramic, other selected areas of the case are made from grade 5 titanium, such as the bezel itself, crown, He escape value and of course, the inner case and case back. This assists with the lightness of the case and the overall watch, perfect for those who want to wear this while cutting up the slopes in Europe.
Just like the 38 mm Speedmaster, the new Omega Seamaster Milano Cortana has a white ceramic dial that has been laser-engraved to look like frosted ice, and within that, the ’26’ emblem of the Winter Olympic Games has been designed to look just like someone has drawn it with a finger through the ice or snow. Of course, you get the iconic skeletonised hands and 3D applied indices on the dial filled with Super-LumiNova. To bring out that wintery theme, the writing and the second hand have been crafted in an ice blue colour to give a small bit of colored contrast to the dial itself.

On the back is a grade 5 titanium caseback with the Milano Cortino 2026 emblem,so when you pick up this piece, you will know that it has always been associated with the XXV Olympic Winter Games. Underneath the titanium case back is the Master Chronometer certified calibre 8806, which features a 55-hour power reserve and is also certified to both COSC and METAS standards.

This is the same movement that can be found in the bond watches with no date, and having owned several Omega Seamasters myself, I can attest that their accuracy is almost 2nd to none. Interestingly, this accuracy in timekeeping draws parallels with the high achievements of Olympic athletes, as does the association with Omega as the official timekeeper of both the winter and summer games.
Initial Thoughts
I’m a little in two minds about this release. I do love the Omega Seamaster Diver 300 collection, and have owned a couple over the years. The ceramic models are very cool watches, but I was always of the impression that they were on the larger side at 43.5mm compared to the standard 42mm in steel. It is also slightly thicker too, about 0.6mm, in order to accommodate the fusion of the ceramic and titanium.
But I will counter my own point by saying the lightness of the ceramic and titanium does counter the size, as does wearing it on a rubber strap. The fully white ceramic case slims this down slightly from a visual perspective, so the wearing experience is not too different to the standard steel models. Either way, it will look good at 300m below the sea, or 3000m above it.
Another point to note is the box the Seamaster Diver 300 comes in. Gone is the giant wooden box of old, which was very impressive, mind you, on collection, but one home and wearing the watch seems kind of redundant. Instead, a smaller, more economical and space-saving presentation box with a watch roll to use when travelling seems more fitting for today’s buyer, a nice touch if you ask me, and one I would much rather prefer.
