From humble quartz beaters to some of the most exclusive watches on the planet, Leonardo DiCaprio’s collection covers it all. Every watch marks a moment in his career, his lifestyle, or his personal taste. Here’s a closer look at the timepieces that have shaped his style over the years!

You wouldn’t guess it from his laid-back style, but Leonardo DiCaprio is a serious watch enthusiast. While he is known for dressing more casually, with relaxed fits, plain tees, and baseball caps being his daily go-to attire, this laid-back aesthetic is what makes his timepieces stand out even more!

While Leonardo DiCaprio may keep his outfits low-key, as we know, his lifestyle is anything but ordinary. Between flying from global film sets and different environmental initiatives, to the private yacht trips and red-carpet events, he lives a life that demands both a sense of refinement and reliability. From the robust steel dive watches to the elegant and sporty pieces, the watches in his collection reflect the tastes of one who values craftsmanship, heritage, and purpose.

The American actor and film producer has long been known for aligning himself with sustainability and environmental causes. All it takes is a quick glance at his Instagram to see just how passionate he is about making the world a better place. With this eco-consciousness comes a preference for understated luxury. Leonardo DiCaprio tends to favour brands that reflect authenticity, purpose, and subtlety over being flashy and hyped-up. When you look at the watches in his collection below, you’ll see this philosophy reflected clearly. From the timeless pieces, practical designs, and watches chosen for substance rather than show.

Leonardo DiCaprio has also been a long-standing brand ambassador for TAG Heuer. He has been a genuine supporter of TAG Heuer for years, and his initial partnership with the brand started in 2009. While the contract was only meant to be for three years, the partnership continued on well into as late as 2019. DiCaprio then officially became a Rolex “Testimonee” in early 2025.

Now that we understand the man behind the watch collection, we can start to appreciate the choices more. Whether he’s stepping onto a movie set or sailing across the Mediterranean, DiCaprio’s watch choices tell a story of their own. Here are the watches he’s been spotted wearing across the years: subtle, timeless, and unmistakably DiCaprio!

Breitling – Avenger Ref. 1E13360

The Breitling Avenger (ref. 1E13360) is known for its lightweight construction thanks to the titanium case and bezel. The titanium also lends to the robustness of the watch, making it not only comfortable to wear but also durable. An ideal watch for outdoor activities, which, in the case of DiCaprio, means long days on movie sets that often take him from rugged locations to high-intensity filming environments. Powered by Breitling’s automatic Calibre 13, and with 300m of water resistance, the Avenger is built to perform under pressure.

Cartier – Roadster W62025V3

Cartier’s Roadster (ref. w62025V3) is a stainless steel automatic watch which takes design inspiration from 1950s sports cars. The elegant tonneau-shaped case design gives the watch wrist presence, while the large Roman indices adds to the elegant aesthetic of the timepiece. The date window has a magnifying glass, one that oddly enough, doesn’t feel out of place in the overall design of this timepiece. And this is because, as mentioned, there is automotive inspiration behind the watch. The crown features a “turbine” like design, while the lugs look like the headlights from cars from the 1950s.

Australian Price (Approx.): $4,500 AUD

Cartier – Tank Ref. WSTA0040

One of the most recognisable and iconic watches in the world of horology is the Cartier Tank. The Cartier Tank’s design drew inspiration from a top-down view of the Renault FT-17 tank used in World War 1. The watch’s signature “brancards,” or vertical sidebars, mimic the parallel tracks of the tank. But what’s even more interesting is that the model featured a rectangular case design, one that was unheard of at the time of its inception. A perfect example of understated, elegant luxury.

Australian Price (Approx.): $6,000 AUD

ID Genève Watches – Circular S

DiCaprio is a big supporter of environmentally friendly practices, as we have already seen with his multiple foundations, campaigns, and public initiatives dedicated to protecting the planet. So if a watch brand is also practicing the same level of environmental responsibility, it will naturally align with DiCaprio’s values. This is exactly what the Swiss-made ID Genève’s Circular S does, as it features a case made from 100% recycled steel that is remelted in a solar surface. On top of that, the movement is also a refurbished automatic calibre, and the strap is made from plant-based waste!

Jaeger-LeCoultre – Reverso Septantieme

Released in 2002, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Septantieme is a limited edition timepiece that was unveiled as part of Reverso’s 70th anniversary celebrations. This was the first time that the Reverso featured an “Extra Grand” (XGT) case, which made it larger than the previous versions. Not only that, but this was also the first Reverso to feature an 8-day power reserve and a double-window Big Date display in place of the 7 o’clock hour indices. The dial also features Art Deco elements (such as gadroons), which is a design reference to the first Reverso models.

Rolex – Daytona Ref. 116509

Long before Leonardo DiCaprio became a Testimonee (ambassador) for Rolex, he was already an avid fan. As you will see from the next couple of timepieces, he has had a fair share of Rolexes in his collection, with the Daytona being a particularly popular model. The Daytona ref. 116509 features an 18k white gold 40mm case, with a silver racing-inspired dial. The black Arabic hour indices and the red accents on the dial give it a sportier aesthetic compared to other Daytona models.

Australian Price (Approx.): $49,800 AUD

Rolex – Daytona Ref. 16520

The Rolex Daytona ref. 16520 is arguably one of the most iconic models in the Daytona line-up (outside of celebrity endorsements). As seen above, it is pictured on the wrist of a young DiCaprio, as the model was first introduced in 1988. What makes this model stand out is that it was the first Daytona or Rolex chronograph to feature an automatic movement. The movement was sourced from Zenith, which, in 1969, was the first brand in the world of watchmaking to create an automatic chronograph. The El Primero, a movement well ahead of its time, served as the base for the Daytona ref. 16520, before the Engineers at Rolex adjusted it as required.

Australian Price (Approx.): $35,000 AUD

Rolex – Daytona “Le Mans” 126529LN

It seems DiCaprio is quite the fan of racing culture, as he owns another Daytona that pays homage to the motorsporting world. The Rolex Daytona “Le Mans” 126529LN is a special edition white gold chronograph that was released in 2023 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. It features the classic reverse-panda look, with a ceramic bezel and red “100′ marking. This is certainly one of the more standout Daytona models in DiCaprio’s collection, with the contrasting aesthetic giving it a bold, unmistakable presence on the wrist.

Australian Price (Approx.): $350,000 AUD

Rolex – Land-Dweller 127334

Rolex unveiled its latest collection during this year’s Watches and Wonders, and it certainly took the market by storm. While initially it had mixed reviews, the popularity of this model soared quite quickly as collectors began to appreciate its bold look, new proportions, and everyday-wear versatility. Featuring a tonneau-shaped case design, a fluted bezel, a flat jubilee bracelet, along with a honeycomb motif dial, these may seem like a lot of different elements coming together, but it comes together far more elegantly than many expected, creating a watch that feels both contemporary and unmistakably Rolex.

Rolex – Oyster Perpetual Beige Dial Ref. 134300

Another Rolex that’s been spotted on Leonardo DiCaprio’s wrist is the classic Oyster Perpetual with the latest beige dial. This model was released in 2025 alongside other colour variations, with this latest Osyter Perpetual (ref. 134300) replacing the previous 124300. The update features a similar design to its predecessor, with a slightly slimmer lug design and a more elegant profile.

Australian Recommended Retail Price (Approx.): $11,300 AUD

Patek Philippe – Nautilus Ref. 5980R

One of the heavy-hitters in DiCaprio’s collection is the Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 5980R. This chronograph model features an 18k rose gold case with a brown alligator leather strap, giving a warm, luxurious presence on the wrist. The chronograph has flyback functionality (the central seconds hand can be reset and restarted instantly with a single push, without needing to stop the chronograph first), while the dial only features a single sub-dial that houses both a 60-minute and 12-hour sub-counters. It’s a powerful yet elegant take on the Nautilus, and it aligns beautifully with DiCaprio’s preference for pieces that balance sophistication with everyday practicality.

Australian Price (Approx.): $185,000 AUD

Patek Philippe – Nautilus “Tiffany”

The Patek Philippe Nautilus “Tiffany” needs no introduction. This is considered among many collectors to be a grail piece, and its easy to understand why. Due to its extreme rarity, with only 170 models being produced worldwide (in celebration of Patek Philippe’s and Tiffany & Co.’s 170th anniversary!), it instantly became one of the most sought-after modern Patek releases. The stunning sky-blue Tiffany dial, paired with the simple and elegant Nautilus design, created the perfect storm of rarity, heritage, and craftsmanship.

Australian Price (Approx.): $2,700,000 AUD

Seiko Ref. SNE057

One of the more subtle pieces worn by Leonardo DiCaprio’s collection is the Seiko solar-powered quartz dress watch ref. SNE057. While it may not be a part of his actual collection, DiCaprio wore this Seiko reference during the filming of The Wolf of Wall Street. An elegant and stylish timepiece, with a day and date complication, what makes the Seiko SNE057 really stand out is the bracelet. The bracelet is often termed as a “striped multi-link expansion bracelet”, and it is able to expand and stretch without a clasp. The horizontal stepped bars of the bracelet give it that vintage Seiko aesthetic!

Australian Price (Approx.): $150 AUD

TAG Heuer Carrera – Calibre 1887 Ref. CAR2012.FC6236 (White Dial)

As mentioned earlier, Leonardo DiCaprio has long been a fan of TAG Heuer timepieces, maintaining a longstanding partnership with the Swiss watchmaker before becoming a Rolex Testimonee. His taste in TAG Heuer watches leans toward classic, timeless designs. Timepieces that reflect both his personality and the overall character of his collection. This TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 is the perfect reflection of this, with an elegant case design, a beautifully balanced dial, sharp hands, and a white and gold aesthetic that gives it a clean yet sophisticated look. This is an effortlessly stylish watch!

Australian Recommended Retail Price (Approx.): $7,800 AUD

TAG Heuer Carrera – Calibre 1887 Ref. CAR2014.FC6235 (Black Dial)

DiCaprio certainly loves the Carrera Calibre 1887, and it’s really not hard to see why. This time, in the black and gold dial combination, this presents a completely different aesthetic with a rich contrast that exudes elegance and luxury. The gold accents for the Arabic hour indices, hands, and TAG Heuer logo create a warm, inviting glow, which, against the black dial background, gives the watch a bold yet refined aesthetic.

Australian Recommended Retail Price (Approx.): $7,800 AUD

TAG Heuer – Professional 1000

Another timepiece that was spotted on DiCaprio’s wrist during his portrayal of Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street was the rare TAG Heuer Professional 1000. This timepiece was developed by TAG Heuer at a time when Swiss mechanical chronographs faced both industrial and economic challenges. Marketed as inexpensive timepieces, these quartz timepieces helped the company navigate through the quartz crisis. The gold and black combination not only adds great contrast, but it is also aesthetically pleasing. It’s easy to see why this watch suited DiCaprio’s portrayal of Belfort, a character who needed something bold, eye-catching, and instantly readable on the wrist.

Australian Price (Approx.): $4,800 AUD

TAG Heuer – Series 2000 Ref. WN5141

Another timepiece that was spotted on DiCaprio’s wrist during The Wolf of Wall Street was the TAG Heuer Series 2000 (ref. WN5141). Another rare TAG Heuer model, the Series 2000 is one of the more upscale variants of the 2000 collection, featuring an 18k yellow gold case and bracelet, along with a diamond-set baguette bezel. This aesthetic elevates the timepiece from a sporty diver (200m water resistance) to one of unmistakable, flashy luxury pieces. Perfect for the portrayal of Jordan Belfort.

International Price (Approx.): $40,000 USD

Victorinox Swiss Army – 24704 Officer’s 1884

During Leonardo DiCaprio’s portrayal of Romeo + Juliet (1996), the actor played a very young Romeo Montague. His attire was youthful, donning a floral shirt and a Victorinox Swiss Army 24704 Officer’s 1884 watch. As this movie was a modern interpretation, and not set in the original historical setting, the characters had contemporary clothing, which allowed the Victorinox Officer’s 1884 timepiece to fit in perfectly. The watch featured highly legible Arabic numerals with a simple utilitarian design, reflecting Victorinox’s roots in Swiss military gear.

International Price (Approx.): $395 USD
