Cartier opens its doors on Collins Street with a new boutique that reflects quiet elegance and timeless design. The space combines fine watchmaking, jewellery, and fragrance in a refined setting.

Located within the beautifully restored building at 90 Collins Street, Cartier is proud to announce the grand reopening of its newly designed flagship boutique in Melbourne. The boutique is positioned in the prestigious “Paris-end”, having earned this nickname due to its elegant architecture, leafy tree-lined streets, presence of luxury boutiques, heritage buildings, five-star hotels and upscale dining.

It took 11 months of renovation to bring this new Cartier boutique’s elegance and beauty to life. The work was carried out by the architectural firm Bidard & Raissi, designing the new space to reaffirm Cartier’s enduring connection with Australia, while also celebrating the fusion of Parisian savoir-faire and Melbourne’s rich cultural and natural identity.

The boutique combines the timeless elegance of Art Deco architecture and modern innovation while paying homage to Cartier’s legacy of craftsmanship. Every detail of the boutique, from the various hand-applied patina finishes to the artistic botanical references that pay homage to the Victorian Botanical Gardens, tells a beautiful story of global inspiration and local dedication.

This new Cartier boutique has different elements that have been situated to capture the clients’ and visitors’ attention perfectly. As you enter the boutique, clients will journey through the jewellery salon, which has been designed with inspiration taken from nature, with hues of green, yellow and wood finishes sourced from Tasmania. We are then treated to a bespoke glass marquetry panel by Myriam Hubert, framed by native flora, situating the Maison’s emblematic panther at the heart of the boutique. Within this space, Cartier states that “guests are invited to discover some of the Maison’s most iconic collections – from the daring lines of Juste Un Clou and the bold spirit of Clash to the timeless elegance of Love and the radiant warmth of Grain de Café. Venturing into the watchmaking universe, with a striking quartz chandelier crafted by Melbourne designer Christopher Boots pays tribute to the mineral history of the region.”

This newly renovated boutique comes with a brand new elegant first floor, thoughtfully designed to showcase Cartier’s most exquisite creations. These encompass the artistry of high jewellery, the timeless allure of fine pieces, and the delicate charm of the brand’s bridal collection.

Melbourne certainly has a lot to offer. As one of Australia’s more vibrant cities, it is filled with architectural elements that evoke an ever-changing climate, including undulating curves and pink hues that symbolise the morning sun. The hospitality area of the boutique is presented in a warm and inviting manner, where guests are treated to champagne and bespoke cocktails daily, in a space that is surrounded by curated artworks and references to the city’s vibrant culture. This makes the new luxurious Cartier boutique a true meeting point of refinement and emotion!
