Hublot turns the Big Bang Impact One Million into a dazzling display of high jewellery and haute horology, with a diamond-set vortex drawing the eye straight to the central flying tourbillon!
To mark the 10th anniversary of the Big Bang Impact’s spectacular design, Hublot has released a timepiece that showcases the brand’s fearless drive to keep pushing boundaries. Known for its million-dollar masterpieces, Hublot once again does the unthinkable in both haute horlogerie and high jewellery with the latest Big Bang Impact One Million.
The brand’s first million-dollar timepiece was released in 2007, and with it featuring 493 baguette-cut diamonds, it sported a very similar design aesthetic. This Big Bang Impact One Million, however, takes this “diamond-filled” concept to new heights.
For this astonishing creation, Hublot has used 500 diamonds, totalling approximately 44.6 carats, in unique shapes that are arranged in a dynamic vortex around the central mechanical masterpiece that is the flying tourbillon. The design was specifically created by Hublot to “symbolise the attraction of energy and focus at the heart of watchmaking’s most celebrated complications.”

The Big Bang Impact has always been designed to showcase some of Hublot’s boldest visual signatures. From fragmented designs to explosive motifs, these are watches created to evoke a real sense of energy, movement, and depth. Rather than existing as a standalone collection like the Classic Fusion or Spirit of Big Bang lines, the Big Bang Impact models feel more aligned with the brand’s Masterpiece spirit, as highly expressive creations within the wider Big Bang universe.
The brand also has a rich history in producing remarkable, super-rare diamond creations. As Hublot states, “From the 2007 One Million $ Big Bang to the Black Caviar Bang, the Big Bang Unico Haute Joaillerie collection, the $3 million Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon and the $5 million watch, Hublot has consistently created some of the brand’s most collectible, entirely diamond-set timepieces“.
Now, for Watches & Wonders 2026, the Big Bang Impact One Million is the next in line to carry this legacy forward, bringing together technical and gemsetting mastery into one daring design.
A Vortex Of Light And Brilliance
The signature Big Bang case serves as the base for this impressive creation. The 45mm Big Bang Impact One Million is crafted in a polished 18k white gold case, fitted with 323 baguette-cut diamonds adorning the case and caseback. The bezel takes this intricate design even further, with both the surface and the sides fitted with 72 baguette-cut diamonds. This truly is a masterclass in high-jewellery watchmaking, where Hublot has not simply set diamonds onto the case, but used them to enhance the entire Impact concept.
The way the baguette-cut diamonds have been arranged gives the timepiece a real sense of depth and a stunning visual aesthetic, where it appears as though the brilliance of the diamonds is exploding outwards from the centre of the dial. Combined with the 18-karat white gold case, the design feels every bit as dramatic and extravagant as its One Million name suggests.
What makes a watch like the Big Bang Impact One Million really special is that setting the diamonds onto the watch is not simply a matter of adding stones for decoration. Especially when you consider the layered architecture of the base Big Bang case, it becomes an even more complicated design, requiring hundreds of hours of gem-setting research and craftsmanship to determine the exact combination of diamond shapes and sizes so that, in the end, everything is aligned perfectly.
This challenge becomes even greater when you consider that the stones are not sitting flat like they would on a jewellery surface, but rather across a complex watch case, bezel, caseback, clasp, and dial, all while still preserving the watch’s unique architectural design that enthusiasts have come to know and love. This is why the piece feels less like a standard gem-set watch and more like a feat of high-jewellery engineering.
Turning to the dial, it takes this intricate and complex gem-setting design even further, this time with the added complication of a central flying tourbillon. The design is created to portray a visual effect where it appears as though the tourbillon has created a crater in the centre of the dial, with the mixture of different-shaped diamonds stemming from the outer part of the dial and then sloping inwards toward this high-complication centrepiece.
This dial has been executed in a very specific way so that it is not simply there to add brilliance through the glistening of the beautiful diamonds, but rather to enhance the dial’s sense of depth and motion. The inward slope of the different-shaped diamonds draws the eye directly toward the central flying tourbillon, making it feel as though the entire dial has been sculpted around this high-complication centrepiece.
The Beating Heart Of The Impact One Million
The Big Bang Impact One Million is powered by Hublot’s hand-wound Calibre HUB9015. This is only the second time in Hublot’s history, after the 2024 Murakami edition, that a flying tourbillon takes centre stage on the dial. The construction of the flying tourbillon is almost just as impressive as the intricate display of diamonds, as the HUB9015 movement is skeletonised and supported from one side only, with no upper bridge. This “flying” construction elevates the timepiece’s technical complexity and visual effect.
Boasting a staggering 120-hour power reserve, or five days, the HUB9015 ensures the watch’s dramatic flying tourbillon is matched by equally serious mechanical substance. It is a movement that fits the Big Bang Impact One Million perfectly, not just because of its technical sophistication, but because its architecture allows the tourbillon to remain the true visual centrepiece of the dial.
Initial Thoughts
Hublot is a brand that constantly pushes the boundaries of watchmaking, but every so often it unveils a creation that makes you stop and wonder how something like it was even conceived. The Big Bang Impact One Million is exactly the kind of watch Hublot thrives on creating: bold, extravagant, and impossible to ignore. At first glance, the sheer volume of diamonds is what grabs your attention, but the longer you look at it, the more you realise this is simply not a gem-set watch made purely for spectacle.
The way Hublot has arranged the baguette-cut diamonds across the case, bezel, and dial, and even around the central high-complication feature, gives the watch real depth, making it feel like a fully realised high-jewellery creation. This is no doubt an extravagant watch, but it is also incredibly well thought out in the way the diamonds work, not only with the Big Bang Impact design language, but also in highlighting the central flying tourbillon. This is not just a watch that dazzles because of its diamonds, but one that successfully combines high jewellery, bold design, and haute horology into one unforgettable package.
