With all the crazy Hublot drops, they understand you’ll need to calm down every once in a while. No worries – that’s what these Classic Fusions are here for!

If you’ve been around the watch world for any amount of time, you’ve either heard of, or been warned about, the Swiss brand Hublot. If it’s the latter, don’t worry; they don’t bite. Admittedly, their designs aren’t for everyone, but that’s exactly how they like it. Ever since they burst onto the scene as MDM Genève, the Nyon-based brand has built a significant reputation for itself with the Art of Fusion.

Typically, this means pushing the art and science of horology to its absolute limits. Amidst all that, however, it’s easy to forget that they’re still as serious as any other watch brand out there. And for those who might feel a little overwhelmed when browsing their more ostentatious catalogue, the brand has unveiled a trifecta of pared-back Classic Fusion models designed to help calm the senses.

Available in three distinct configurations, the Hublot Classic Fusion Sage Green collection introduces a fresh yet understated expression of the brand’s design language. Releasing for LVMH Watch Week 2026, the new trio of Classic Fusion models comes in 45mm, 42mm and 33mm cases, the latter featuring a diamond-set bezel.

Typically, I’d address the case dimensions first, but the main highlight across all three releases is their unifying factor: the sage green dial. Sunray-brushed and satin-finished for maximum radiance, it’s a calm yet sophisticated colourway that emphasises the collection’s strength through modesty.

Somewhat tangentially, the eponymous sage herb is also used in smudging, a practice meant to stave off negative energies around you. Take that as you will; perhaps these Hublot Classic Fusion models will help root out the bad mojo in your life, but I wouldn’t advise setting them on fire to find out.

How could negative energies exist when you’ve got a watch that’s as serene as it is extravagant?

The three Classic Fusion Sage Green models come in distinctive case sizes, all housed in lightweight titanium cases with the iconic H-screw bezel. First is the 45mm model, which has a moderate 13.05mm thickness and silver subdials denoting its chronograph complication. The middle child of the set, at 42mm, is a standard three-hand model with a case thickness of 10.4mm. Finally, the diamond-set 33mm model sits at a demure 8.4mm thick, with the added flourish of a bezel set with 36 diamonds totalling approximately 0.8 carats.

The Cal. HUB1143, as seen in the caseback of the Classic Fusion Chronograph Black Magic 42mm.

At the heart of the collection is a trio of movements tailored to each watch’s purpose. The 45mm Classic Fusion Chronograph is powered by the Calibre HUB1143 automatic, featuring a chronograph complication, a 4Hz (28,800VpH) beat rate, and a 48-hour power reserve. With typical Hublot flair, the movement is finished with a black-lacquered oscillating weight, alongside rhodium-plated, satin-finished and microblasted tungsten components.

The 42mm three-hand model houses the automatic Calibre HUB1110. This movement is far simpler, only offering a date display at 3 o’clock, with the same power reserve and beat rate. The 33mm reference, on the other hand, is equipped with a quartz movement. While they don’t go into specifics, it’s likely the HUB2912, the brand’s reliable quartz workhorse, which delivers long-term dependability with a battery life of three to five years.

Final Thoughts

As I said, Hublot’s releases can get a bit crazy at times. This is a good thing. If they stopped making insane timepieces, most would smugly declare that Hublot has “lost its touch”, despite spending the better part of their lives admonishing its disruptiveness. I, however, would be genuinely saddened. Without crazy, what is Hublot?

That said, there’s still a need for balance. Leaning solely on wild releases would likely lead to the same outcome as having none at all. That’s why it’s nice to see the brand exercising restraint with the Classic Fusion Sage Green. As uncharacteristic of Hublot as it may be, it’s always a welcome addition to the standard line.

As I said in my Black Magic Chronograph review, I’m keen to see how the future of the Classic Fusion collection unfolds. In the coming years, Hublot is set to rapidly expand its manufacturing capabilities, and perhaps we’ll see some of the brand’s more impressive movement technology trickle down into standard lines like the Classic Fusion.

While we’re still some way off from that, it’s encouraging to see that Hublot isn’t content to leave the status quo untouched. By keeping things fresh as the brand continues to evolve behind the scenes, it feels increasingly compelling to round out a watch collection with a Hublot.
