LVMH Watch Week: TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 In Stunning Green

by Sameera Gamage

The TAG Heuer Calibre E4 gets an update, this time in a stunning shade of green!

Green seems to be the colour for TAG Heuer in this year’s LVMH releases, with the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Dato already getting a stunning green update (read more about it here!). Now, it’s the Calibre E4’s turn to get the green transformation.

TAG Heuer, a pioneer in the world of connected watches, is introducing this latest model to the existing 45mm Calibre E4 collection. The brand’s connected line of watches is a luxury take on smartwatches, as they blend traditional watchmaking with smart wearable technology to create an iconic design.

The all-new TAG Heuer Calibre E4 Green

The first TAG Heuer Connected Watch was released in 2015. Since then, TAG Heuer has updated the model to suit modern times, by updating the smartwatch technology and also the hardware surrounding it. For this year’s model, the Swiss brand has given the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 a new shade of colour to merge elegance with sports, embracing the ever-popular and sumptuous green colour. An understated green shade that exudes sophistication. The choice to use the colour green was clear, it was designed to captivate the trendsetters in the TAG Heuer connected world.

The watch comes in a 45mm steel case, which now features a striking green ceramic polished bezel. This is now also very nicely complemented by the addition of the green rubber strap. The steel case breaks up the green from the bezel and strap, allowing them to stand out quite nicely.

Besides this colour change, the rest of the Calibre E4 timepiece remains the same as previous versions, featuring the steel case design with its black-coated steel crown. This latest model also comes with three new distinct watch faces, named Mirage, Prism, and Chromatic. The brand states that in regards to these watch faces, they have been “meticulously adorned with the different hues of green that mirror the bezel, offering a touch of animation without compromising on elegance. These watch faces have been designed to be applied to other regular E4 watches, extending the elegance onto everyone’s wrists.”

Touching on the watch faces, TAG Heuer already provides 20 different watch faces, ranging from chronographs to simple three-hands to the more complex variants we find in the mechanical watch world. This extensive range of watch faces offers the wearer different combinations to suit a range of personal tastes. The versatility of the connected watch allows the watch to seamlessly blend in with the wearer’s life, as they are able to adjust the smartwatch to keep connected during working hours or record their fitness sessions while also tracking their daily activities.

This latest edition to the TAG Heuer’s Calibre E4 collection joins the black and blue-coloured options that are already available for purchase. This latest shade of green now gives more options, to cater to diverse tastes and preferences.

Final Thoughts

The TAG Heuer Connected range of watches was created to bridge the gap between luxury timepieces and smartwatches. They are designed to cater to those who are already smartwatch proficient or those who want to get a smartwatch but want that hint of luxury backed by a reputable and established watch manufacturer.

The all-new TAG Heuer Calibre E4 Green. The new green faces perfectly complement the overall aesthetic of the timepiece.

I personally like this new shade of green on this Calibre E4. The green colour is not too bright, nor is it too dark to give it that almost black appearance from a distance. It gives off a playful, sporty look, which is perfect for this watch. Some of the new green faces available, such as the chronograph face with its sunburst green dial finish, complement the overall look of the timepiece very nicely.

While the software updates aren’t major, this latest TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 offers versatility outside of the standard black and blue-coloured options available.
